Musgrave Couldn't Shake the Monkey Off His Back in Kansas
It seems like the monkey will not get off NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series Champion, Ted Musgrave's back as his string of bad luck continued in Kansas. His No. 9 Team ASE Germain Toyota Tundra just would not cooperate with him in Saturday's O'Reilly 250 at Kansas Speedway as he started the day in sixth and finished in 22nd.

With a string a tough finishes for Musgrave in the month of June, he and his No. 9 Team ASE Germain Toyota team were looking forward to the month of July for their luck to change in Kansas. Things were finally looking up for Musgrave and his No. 9 Team ASE Germain Toyota team as they started off the weekend with a strong sixth place qualifying effort on Friday. Musgrave was looking to back up his sixth place qualifying effort with a strong finish in Saturday's race, but as bad luck would have it, Musgrave and his No. 9 Team ASE Germain Toyota Team were snake bit once again. Musgrave's Tundra just would not cooperate with him as he and crew chief, Tom Ackerman along with the No. 9 Team ASE Germain Toyota crew did all they could, but could not get the truck to respond to the changes they made during the race.

"It was another one of those races that we couldn't seem to catch a break with our truck", said Ted Musgrave. "The No. 9 Team ASE Germain Toyota Tundra was good in Friday's practice and in qualifying. It seemed like we had a really good truck for the race. For whatever reason the truck just would not respond to the changes we made during the race. It was loose at the beginning of the race and then it got tight toward the middle of the race and at the end we had an aero push. Tom and the guys made the changes that we thought we needed for the truck to get better, but it just did not respond. Finishing 22nd was better than last weeks finish, but it's still not the finish we were looking for by any means. Next week we will be taking a different truck with us to Kentucky and we will go back to the shop to figure out why this truck wasn't working with us."

Musgrave still remains fourth in the Craftsman Truck Series Driver Points. He trails his teammate and NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series point's leader, Todd Bodine by 252 points. Musgrave is 114-points behind second place driver David Reutiman and 109-points behind third place driver Johnny Benson.

What is Team ASE? In the early days of racing, the driver was often recognized as the main reason for a team’s success. Recently, the crew chief and crew have been acknowledged as equally important in creating a winning situation for every race team. A parallel exists between racing and the automotive service industry. Similar to the way a crew chief and crew must deliver a satisfactory product to the driver in order to win the race, an employer and the technicians in a service and repair shop must satisfy the needs of their customer in order to create return business. But what makes TEAM ASE most unique is the level of commitment from our certified technicians involved in the program – both on and off the track. Being competitive on the race track is important to TEAM ASE because ASE is itself a standard of excellence. However, TEAM ASE’s success in motorsports is not solely measured by pole position, top-five finishes or by slapping hundreds of decals on racecars. There is much more to the TEAM ASE program. http://www.ase.com http://www.germainracing.com.
