Statesville, NC – Dennis Setzer and his #46 Chevrolet Silverado race team showed that their superspeedway program was very much alive at Daytona. Setzer and Morgan-Dollar Motorsports, known much more for their short track successes, turned some heads in Daytona by leading the second-most laps and scoring their best finish ever (6th) at the 2.5-mile track.

The team is eager to prove to everyone that they will be a factor at all tracks both large and small in 2004. Although two short tracks appear on the schedule right after Atlanta, you won’t get the impression that the #46 crew is looking ahead to those tracks.

“We are really excited about going to Atlanta Motor Speedway for the first time,” stated driver, Dennis Setzer. “Atlanta is a great track for the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series and its going to provide the fans with a lot of action. This is a very fast track and aerodynamics and horsepower will play a big part in this race. We feel that our speedway program is way ahead of where it was in the past. Our test went well at Lowe’s Motor Speedway last week, and I believe we could be good right out of the box.”

Dennis and Morgan-Dollar Motorsports have combined for five wins over the past three seasons, but never at a track over .75 miles in length. Atlanta is a 1.54-mile quad oval race track. Dennis has some experience at Atlanta, but never in the new track configuration. Of four Busch Series starts in Atlanta, Setzer has one top-ten finish to his credit.

Someone who has had success at the track is #46 Chevrolet Silverado crew chief Danny Gill. “I came to Atlanta as a crew chief for Bobby Hamilton, Jr. in 1998. We sat on the pole and finished second in the race,” said Gill. “I really feel good about our chances this year. We have a brand new Silverado race truck, there is aero parity in the series, and we have a strong RCR engine under the hood.”

Even though this is a new event on the schedule, Setzer and Gill seem to share the same enthusiasm for this race. Dennis Setzer, Danny Gill and the entire Morgan-Dollar Motorsports Chevrolet Silverado race team tackle the season’s second race at Atlanta Motor Speedway this weekend for the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series EasyCare Vehicle Service Contracts 200. Live green flag begins on the Speed Channel Saturday, March 13th at 1:00 pm EST with radio coverage coming on MRN Affiliates at 12:30 p.m.
