It is truly a driver’s track. You have to be up on the wheel. Things happen pretty fast here too but not quite as tough as Bristol. I really like the track but if you aren’t handling right, it will be a very long night. It is a fairly technical track that really requires a balanced truck. ON PREVIOUS RICHMOND SUCCESS: “We have had some pretty good runs in the NCTS at Richmond. We have a couple of wins here and several strong finishes and have really had some fun racing here. But this race attracts several of the NASCAR Cup drivers so it raises the bar on the competition just that much higher because this just isn’t the old NCTS. The level of competition in the series this year is as tough as any form of racing any where in the world. Every week we line up against some strong teams and drivers. You have to be on your game as a team and a driver.” SPRAGUE NCTS CAREER TRIVIA TIDBITS • Has won from the pole five times in NCTS competition (188 starts) • Has started in top-three 71 times resulting in 39 top-three finishes (54.92%) (188 starts) 19 wins; 13 seconds; 7 thirds • Has started in top-five 98 times resulting in 63 top-five finishes (64.29%) (188 starts) 20 wins; 20 seconds; 9 thirds; 6 fourths; 8 fifths • Has started in top-ten 153 times resulting in 122 top-ten finishes (79.74%) (188 starts) 23 wins; 28 seconds; 17 thirds; 11 fourths; 15 fifths; 6 sixths; 4 sevenths; 7 eighths; 6 ninths; 5 tenths • Has only started out of the top-fifteen 14 times (188 starts) (7.5%) • Has only finished out of the top-fifteen 33 times (188 starts) (17.4%) THE RACEDAY CREW: Team Manager/Spotter: Dave Fuge Crew Chief: Chris Showalter Jackman: Jeremy Adams Gasman: Chuck Day Front tire changer: Scott Punch Rear tire changer: Michael Byrd Engineer: Shane Martin Engine Maintenance: Bobby Jones Front tire carrier: Jeffrey Reeves Rear tire carrier: Randy Dean 2nd Gascan: Tom Gomez Catchcan: George Stone Scorer: Sara Dykehouse Statistician: Dawn Fuge Pit Support/Catch tires: Terry Lynch |
