P.J. Jones Set to Drive Team ASE/CARQUEST

Jones will saddle up in the cockpit of the Ultra Motorsports prepared No. 2 Team ASE/CARQUEST Dodge this weekend when the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series invades California Speedway for the American Racing Wheels 200. Jones last start in the NCTS was last November when he drove an Ultra Motorsports entry at Homestead-Miami Speedway, finishing 9th in the No. 27 Ultra Wheels Dodge. Jones is no stranger to NASCAR Competition. He has 14 NCTS starts with one top-five and three top-10 finishes. His best career finish was second at Tucson Raceway Park on April 8, 1995. Jones was the winner of the inaugural NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series exhibition event at Mesa Marin Speedway in 1994. Jones also has 17 NASCAR Nextel Cup starts. He posted an impressive fourth place finish in A.J. Foyt's No. 14 at Watkins Glen in 2002. The 35-year-old native of Torrance, CA. has raced virtually everything on wheels. He started out in go-karts and quickly moved to midget cars. Jones has competed in the CART Series as well as the IMSA sports car series. He teamed up with his legendary father, Parnelli Jones to win the IMSA 24 Hours of Daytona in 1988. The American Racing Wheels 200 at California Speedway is set for Saturday Oct. 2nd. The NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series event will be broadcast live on the Speed Channel, MRN Radio and XM Satellite Radio at 10:00 pm ET.
