MOORESVILLE, NC (November 5, 2004)-Veteran driver P. J. Jones charged his way through the field to post an impressive eighth place finish in the Chevy Silverado 150 at Phoenix International Raceway. This was only Jones' second NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series start of the year in the No. 2 Team ASE/CARQUEST Dodge and he made the most of his opportunity.

It was a good top-ten finish for us today," Jones said following the event. "We were lucky to get through some of the stuff that went on out there. We were three wide through the dogleg one time. We were three wide going into turn three. I was right in the middle of a lot of it. At the end, I was trying to get past Dennis Setzer and we were beating and banging pretty good. I had a lot of fun out there."

Jones qualified his Team ASE/CARQUEST Dodge in the 18th position. He quickly and steadily moved his way through the 36-truck field. When the first caution flag fell on lap 43, Jones brought his Ultra Motorsports prepared Dodge down pit road for four tires, fuel and a clean windshield. When action resumed he continued to move toward the front, and he was in 14th place by lap 50 and running in the 12th spot by lap 75. As the laps wound down, Jones continued to pick up positions.

"We were just so tight all day long," Jones said. "At the end, I was just trying to help this team out a little bit and pass as many trucks as I could. We had a pretty good Team ASE/CARQUEST Dodge. We had a pretty good day. I'd like to get the truck working just a little bit better. We seemed to be tight ever since we unloaded and we just couldn't get out of it. It was getting wild at the end there with everyone scrambling to get positions."

David Starr was the winner of the Chevy Silverado 150 at Phoenix International Raceway. The win marked Starr's third NCTS career victory. The next stop for the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series is next Friday night under the lights at Darlington Raceway. The Darlington 200 will be broadcast live on the Speed Channel, MRN Radio and XM Satellite Radio at 8:00pm ET.
