MOORESVILLE, NC (October 19, 2004) -NASCAR Nextel Cup star Jamie McMurray will climb behind the wheel of the No. 2 Team ASE/CARQUEST Dodge for the Kroger 200 NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series race at Martinsville Speedway this weekend. The Kroger 200 will mark the third time this season that McMurray has graced the cockpit of the Ultra Motorsports prepared Dodge Ram. McMurray has proven to be a contender every time he drives the No. 2. He won the pole and finished second to teammate Ted Musgrave at Richmond, and he dominated parts of the New Hampshire race before running low on fuel in the closing laps.

"I have had a great time racing the Team ASE/CARQUEST Dodge," McMurray said. "We had good runs at Richmond and New Hampshire and had a lot of fun doing it. I really felt like we almost had Ted at Richmond but the caution came out right when we were in the process of making a pass. At New Hampshire we had a great truck and we had a good battle with Travis Kvapil but we just didn't have the luck we needed."

McMurray will pull double duty this weekend. In addition to the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series show on Saturday, McMurray will attempt to strengthen his hold on 11th place in the NASCAR Nextel Cup standings. He is currently 74 points ahead of Dale Jarrett. He returns to Martinsville with renewed optimism after posting two straight top-10 finishes in NASCAR Nextel Cup competition at the Virginia short track. Saturday's NCTS race will be McMurray's first truck race at the .526 mile oval.

"I love the shorts tracks," McMurray said. "They are a lot of fun. Each track presents a different challenge. At Martinsville in the spring they had an issue with the concrete. For me the concrete wasn't the biggest problem. The rubber is the issue. It's like you hit a curb in the middle of the corner and it upsets the car."

The Kroger 200 NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series race at Martinsville Speedway in Martinsville, VA is slated for Saturday October 23rd. The event will be broadcast live on The Speed Channel, MRN Radio and XM Satellite Radio at 1pm ET.
